Ahead of post-production: Lucasfilm and Disney have completed filming on Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu

The Mandalorian and Grogu screenwriter Dave Filoni has shared some great news for Star Wars fans.

Filming on Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will replace the fourth season of The Mandalorian and close out all of its storylines, is complete.

Now Lucasfilm and Disney will take care of editing the film and post-production.

Unfortunately, the end of filming does not mean the film will premiere soon - it will be released on 22 May 2026.

The Mandalorian and Grog was directed by Jon Favreau - the author of the original series, and Dave Filoni took on the duties of the main screenwriter.

The lead role in the film was played by Pedro Pascal, who embodied the image of The Mandalorian in the series as well.
