Meet free Marvel Rivals: 6v6 team battles with your favourite superheroes

Today, 6 December 2024, Marvel Rivals, a free-to-play third-person team-based shooter developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games, was released. The game offers exciting 6v6 PvP gameplay where players can form teams of various superheroes and villains from the Marvel universe.

Here's What We Know

Marvel Rivals focuses on "Dynamic Hero Synergy", which allows you to combine character abilities to create unique tactical opportunities during combat. Players can change the environment, using destruction for a strategic advantage. The game's maps are located in famous Marvel locations.

There are 33 characters available at the start, including popular heroes such as Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. The characters are divided into three roles: Forward (Tank), Duelist (DPS), and Strategist (Support), each of which has its own unique abilities.

The game will use a seasonal content model. The first season will start in early January 2025, and the initial season 0, titled Doom's Rise, will be released immediately after the release. Each season will include new heroes, maps, and game modes.

In Marvel Rivals, all characters remain free of charge, but cosmetic items for purchase and the Battle Pass system are available. The developers promise regular updates to maintain the interest of players.

The game supports cross-platform play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, in the ranked modes, players from different platforms will be separated due to the difference in gameplay.
