Mercedes-Benz launches PixelPaint - an analogue to inkjet printing for customised orders
In the world of cars, personalisation has become not just a trend, but an entire industry where buyers are willing to pay for the uniqueness of their "iron horse". Mercedes-Benz has decided to bring this art to perfection by opening the Manufaktur studio and launching the new PixelPaint technology.
Here's What We Know
Manufaktur Studio is located at Mercedes' headquarters in Sindelfingen. It's a place that promises the ultimate in customisation. Customers not only choose parts for their car, but can also see how these components are installed by hand. The studio works with no more than 20 cars per day, which emphasises the exclusivity of the process.
In addition to the existing options, Mercedes has announced new colours and interior solutions for the S-Class as well as the AMG range. But the big news is the PixelPaint paint technology.

PixelPaint works on the principle of an inkjet printer. The technology allows paint to be applied with ultra-high precision directly onto the car body. This allows Mercedes to create multi-coloured designs or patterns that previously seemed unrealistic. The developers of the technology claim that the possibilities are almost limitless - from delicate designs to complex multi-layered compositions.
