Here's What We Know

Discussions on the purchase of 38 MLRS are currently at the final stage, and official approval of the deal, worth around €500 million, is expected in the near future. This amount includes ammunition, training of Greek artillerymen and maintenance of the systems.

According to the publication, the PULS multiple launch rocket system is distinguished by its high performance, ease of maintenance and support in the army. Due to the expanded range of ammunition, the system is capable of launching missiles at a distance of up to 300 km, which will give Greece the ability to strike at strategic depth. In addition to long-range missiles, its arsenal also includes missiles with a range of up to 35 km.

The modular design of the launcher allows for the use of different types of missiles depending on the tasks at hand, making the system flexible in its application.

The launcher accommodates 2 containers that can include the following missiles: 18 AccuLAR-122 122 mm calibre missiles with a range of up to 35 km; 10 AccuLAR-160 160 mm calibre missiles with a range of up to 40 km; 4 EXTRA 306 mm calibre missiles with a range of up to 150 km; 2 Predator Hawk 370 mm calibre missiles with a range of up to 300 km.

The agreement is expected to involve the participation of the domestic defence industry, including the establishment of a production line in Greece.
