Geralt has become a cyberpunk: CD Projekt planned to move the main character to Night City in one of The Witcher 3 quests
Can you imagine if Geralt from The Withcer 3 was set in the Cyberpunk universe? Why not, considering that these two games are made by the same studio? And CD Projekt Red wanted to implement this in The Witcher. This is evidenced by the information found by data miners.
Here's What We Know
A team of data miners has discovered an interesting scenario for an early version of the Through Time and Space quest in The Witcher 3. In it, Geralt and Avalanche teleport to Night City from Cyberpunk 2077.
In the Through Time and Space quest, Geralt and Avalanche travel between worlds through a chain of portals. They encounter various locations, including a desert planet and a toxic swamp.
In the draft of the quest scenario, Geralt and Avalach find the first portal in the Redan garrison, not in Novigrad, as in the final version. During one of the transitions, they end up in Knight City, where the following conversation takes place between the characters:
- Geralt: "What... What is this place? Is this the afterlife?"
- Avalanche: "No. It is just another reality through which the Spiral leads... Technologically advanced, but abandoned. Dying."
- Geralt: "Disgusting. The stench, the noise... How can you live here?!"
- Avalakh: "You should know better. This world is inhabited by humans, not elves."
In 2015, when The Witcher 3 was released, Cyberpunk 2077 was not yet in development, but the intersection of these two worlds would have caused a wide range of emotions among fans. And who knows, maybe CD Projekt will do something similar in the next games.
