Yesterday we looked at the worst games of 2024 according to the critics' assessments and, as a reminder, Bandai Namco's anime fighting game Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash became the loser of the year on Metacritic.

But gamers have their own view on unsuccessful projects and, we note, it is radically different from the experts' assessments.

Here's What We Know

The best of the worst games of 2024 was Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which became "Game of the Year" according to Time magazine. RPG from BioWare really turned out to be extremely controversial, but the fact that it is so actively discussed says that it is still interesting to the public, and any criticism is much better than indifference.

But the loudest, obvious and predictable failures of 2024 were the network shooter Concord, whose servers closed two weeks after release, and adventure action Unknown 9: Awakening - even the star of the series "The Witcher" Anya Chalotra did not help him.

The only thing common in the lists of critics and gamers is that the title of the worst game was given to Bandai Namco projects.

The top 10 worst games of 2024 according to gamers on Metacritic:

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard - 3.8
  • Madden NFL 25 - 3.0
  • Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection - 2.9
  • Utopia City - 2.8
  • EA Sports FC 25 - 2.4
  • Capes - 2.3
  • The Crush House - 1.9
  • Olympics Go! Paris 2024 - 1.8
  • Unknown 9: Awakening - 1.7
  • Concord - Rating: 1.7
