iPad mini with OLED display may appear as early as 2026

Apple may introduce a new iPad mini with OLED display in 2026.

Here's What We Know

According to the forecast of the analytical company Omdia, the new product will receive OLED technology in 2026 or 2027.

These displays will use single-stack panels with a frequency of 60 Hz. In 2027-2028, OLED displays will also appear in iPad Air models with 11 and 13-inch screens.

On the Mac side, Omdia predicts that in 2026, Apple will start using 120Hz dual-stack OLED displays for MacBook Pro with 14-inch and 16-inch screens. And in 2028, OLED displays with the same 120Hz frequency will appear in MacBook Air models.

Omdia also expects Apple to release an 18.8-inch foldable device with an OLED display in 2028.

OLED panels produce brighter colours, deeper blacks, better viewing angles and higher contrast, making them ideal for premium devices such as the iPhone and iPad Pro.
