The Bear star Jeremy Allen White to play Jabba the Hutt's son in The Mandalorian & Grogu
Jeremy Allen White will appear in the next Star Wars film The Mandalorian & Grogu as Rotta Hutt, the son of Jabba the Hutt. This will be his first major project after his successful role in the Emmy Award-winning series The Bear.
Here's What We Know
Although the plot details of The Mandalorian & Grogu have not yet been revealed, White's casting as Jabba's son gives the first hint of what may be in store for the protagonist and little Grogu. The film takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi, where Princess Leia kills Jabba.
The Book of Boba Fett series showed that Jabba's absence led to a power vacuum among the criminal bosses on Tatooine. Therefore, the film should devote a certain part of the story to the criminal syndicate.
The Mandalorian & Grogu will be directed by Jon Favreau, who also wrote the script with Dave Filoni. The project will also feature Pedro Pascal as Mando and Sigourney Weaver in an unknown role.
When We Can Expect It
The film is scheduled to premiere on 22 May 2026, which will be the first feature film in the Star Wars universe since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
