Rumour: Xbox is not preparing big announcements at The Game Awards, as it plans to hold its own Developer Direct show at the beginning of the year

The Game Awards will take place on 13 December, where dozens of announcements are expected. However, it's unlikely that we'll see any big Xbox announcements. But why?

Here's What We Know

According to journalist Jez Korten, Xbox does not plan to make big announcements at The Game Awards 2024.

Corten noted on Twitter that he expects many epic multiplatform announcements, but does not expect a significant number of games from Microsoft studios. This is because the company intends to hold its Developer Direct show in the first quarter of 2025.

Over the past two years, Microsoft has used Developer Direct for major announcements, so it is likely that this practice will continue.
