Japanese website Best Car reported that Mitsubishi has revisited the idea of reviving the Pajero Mini compact SUV. The car with this name was produced from 1994 to 2012. After that, rumours of a possible reincarnation of the model have repeatedly appeared, but the matter has not yet moved beyond talk.

Here's What We Know

Best Car claims that Mitsubishi, in an effort to lure potential Suzuki Jimny buyers, insisted on retaining the frame design of the Pajero Mini. However, this was opposed by partners in the Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, and allegedly Mitsubishi is no longer so principled on this issue.

The possibility of using the ready platform of the Delica Mini van, which is a variant of the Mitsubishi eK X Space, is being considered. And as a powertrain for the domestic market in Japan - a "mild hybrid" based on a 660 cc engine in 52 and 64 hp versions. Delica has all-wheel drive versions, so Pajero Mini also has all chances to get a similar modification.

The approximate price of Mitsubishi Pajero Mini is from 2 million yen (about $13,100). The novelty may be presented in 2025 or later.
