Bad news: journalist and insider Jason Schreier is sure that GTA VI release will be pushed back to 2026
We've already reported that respected journalist and insider Jason Schreier took part in the Kinda Funny Games podcast and said that at The Game Awards 2024 viewers can expect some unexpected and "mind blowing announcements".
However, there was another important talking point in his dialogue that is worth mentioning.
Here's What We Know
A few months ago, there were rumours that Rockstar Games and Take-Two would push back the release of GTA VI to 2026. Then Jason Schreier actively denied this information, but emphasised that since the game is incredibly ambitious and large-scale such a scenario cannot be ruled out.
Now on the podcast the journalist said that he is not sure that GTA VI will be released in 2025, and moreover, he now expects that the developers will make a difficult decision and announce the postponement of the release.
I'd be shocked if this actually happens next year. Rockstar games always come out with delays. Red Dead 2's release was delayed until Spring 2018 and then Autumn 2018, and that was six years ago. Games are now even more complex, with more mechanics.
Well, it's sad to admit, but Jason Schreier is rarely wrong in his predictions and let's hope that this particular time he's wrong.
