Ukraine successfully tests Ruta high-speed missile
During the presentation of the Borys Paton National Prize in 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the new Ruta drone missile developed by the Ukrainian defence industry had already been tested.
Here's What We Know
In addition to the "Palianytsia", which was announced on Independence Day, and the "Peklo" drone missile, which was officially demonstrated on 6 December, this year another development, the "Ruta" missile, was also announced.
"Ruta is the result of the work of Destinus, a start-up founded by Mikhail Kokorich, who fled Putin's Russia and founded the company in Europe. At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the company was already supplying Ukraine with Lord rotorcraft with a range of 750-2000 km, and that deliveries of the product, called Ruta, would begin in early 2024.

This drone missile has a range of up to 300 km and is capable of performing strike and reconnaissance missions or being used as a training target. The design includes a warhead, fuel tank, fixed wing, electronics unit and turbojet engine.
A prototype of Ruta was demonstrated at Eurosatory 2024, which shows that it can carry a payload of tens of kilograms. The drone has a flight speed of 500-800 km/h, which makes it difficult for Russian mobile fire groups and air defence systems to intercept.

"Ruta is a versatile platform that can adapt to different tasks, such as returning from a mission by parachute.
