The Spirit of the Samurai, developed by Digital Mind Games and published by Kwalee, was released on 12 December 2024. This 2D game combines action and adventure, immersing players in the world of Japanese mythology with unique stop-motion animation.

In The Spirit of the Samurai, players take on the role of Takeshi, a samurai who defends his village from the invasion of the oni and his army of the undead. The game allows you to control three characters: Takeshi himself, the spirit of the kodama, and the cat warrior Chisai. Each of them has unique abilities and playstyle.

The visual style of the game is inspired by the stop-motion technique, which gives it a special charm and a sense of fairy tale. Players will travel through a variety of locations, including village ruins, mountain caves, and abandoned cemeteries, encountering yokai, demons, and other creatures from Japanese folklore.
