In recent weeks, drones have been spotted over Picatinny Arsenal and Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster. Flight restrictions were imposed near the facilities.

Here's What We Know

State and local officials say there have been dozens of reports of large drones flying over residents' homes, businesses, and public places, scaring people in their communities. Federal investigators said they did not yet have an answer, but added that they did not believe the drones posed a threat to the public.

Congressman Jeff Van Drew said that the drones were linked to Iran and added that they "pose a threat to national security". He also suggested shooting them down. The Pentagon, on the other hand, denied this statement and added that "these are not drones of a foreign organisation".

The House Homeland Security Committee discussed the flights at a joint hearing on Tuesday, where Keith Jones, deputy executive assistant for air and maritime operations at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said federal investigators have not yet been able to identify the drones.
