Space satire: the first gameplay trailer for Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 RPG has been unveiled
Another big reveal at The Game Awards 2024 was the first gameplay trailer for The Outer Worlds 2, the sequel to 2019's satirical RPG.
Here's What We Know
Obsidian Entertainment studio kept the comedic atmosphere of the first part and even seems to have multiplied it.
The developers jokingly announced that the game will be twice as big as the first part, twice as fun, and its graphics twice as cool.
The Outer Worlds 2 is also done in a retro-futuristic style and will offer gamers a huge amount of freedom in completing tasks.
The game's description on Steam reads:
You are a plucky and most likely attractive agent of the Earth Board. Your task is to get to the bottom of the cause of the devastating rifts that threaten the complete destruction of humanity. The investigation leads you to Arcadia, where the jump drive technology originated, and now the fate of the entire colony - and ultimately the galaxy - depends on you. Your decisions, your strengths and weaknesses, your team and those you choose to ally yourself with.
Ever since the supposedly well-meaning power of the Protectorate was shaken with the rebellion of their religious order and an invasion from outside, Arcadia has been riven by infighting. Devastating rifts appear time and again in the colony, and each side seeks to control them - or close them. It's up to you to visit the different zones, uncover the secrets of the past, and change the fate of a system on the brink of disaster!
When We Can Expect It
The Outer Worlds 2 is expected to release in 2025 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series and will be available in the Game Pass catalogue.
