Samsung's The Premiere 8K projector is the first in the world to receive 8K Association certification.

Here's What We Know

This device, unveiled at CES 2023, is not yet available in many countries, but has already received high praise for its quality.

The 8K Association certification includes requirements for 8K resolution (7680 x 4320 pixels), brightness, colour space, contrast, HDR, audio, and upscaling to 8K. The Premiere 8K meets all of these standards, making it the first projector to receive this certification.

Samsung's flagship projector uses a short throw lens with advanced aspherical mirrors, which eliminates the need for ceiling mounts and complex setups. The projector can be placed on a table just a few metres from a wall or screen to display images up to 150 inches in size.

Premiere 8K runs on the Tizen OS and offers access to all popular audio and video streaming apps. It also features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Alexa, Bixby and SmartThings.

Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President Tayeong Son said that achieving this certification is an important step in the development of new projectors and will help expand the 8K ecosystem.
