Apple has begun the process of mass producing the new iPhone 17 Air, which will replace the Plus model next year.

Here's What We Know

The device is currently in the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, where Apple and its suppliers are evaluating the feasibility of the design and manufacturing methods. During this phase, minor design changes may be made to match manufacturing capabilities and costs. Once the NPI is complete, Apple will move to a test production line to make sure all processes are on track.

According to rumours, the iPhone 17 Air will be Apple's thinnest smartphone yet and may have only a single rear camera.

The release of the iPhone 17 Air confirms Apple's abandonment of the Plus model in favour of a thinner and more stylish device. The success of the iPhone 17 Air will show whether Apple can attract customers with its new approach to smartphone design.
