Helldivers 2 has received a large-scale Omens of Tyranny update, which added new enemies - Illuminate, as well as the first drivable car. Thanks to this, the game has already attracted a record number of players in recent months.

Here's What We Know

Arrowhead Games has released the long-awaited update for Helldivers 2, which introduced Illuminate enemies and other innovations that have benefited the game.

According to SteamDB, the update instantly attracted attention: the number of simultaneous players reached 150 thousand, the highest figure in the last six months. The last time more than 150 thousand people played Helldivers 2 simultaneously was back in April.

And that's only on PC. We are sure that the situation is no worse on PlayStation 5.

Among the other innovations of Omens of Tyranny is the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV). This is the first car in the game that allows you to move between locations faster and effectively overcome waves of enemies, especially in new urban areas on the planet Calypso. Players will be able to unlock the FRV by completing "basic orders".

In addition, the plot of the update adds satirical elements: players will have to fight against citizens controlled by Illuminate, who are called The Voteless. The soldiers' task will be to reveal the dark plans of the enemies and free the planet from their influence.

Omens of Tyranny has become an important addition to Helldivers 2, attracting both newcomers and veterans of the game. The update is now available for download on PlayStation 5 and Steam.

We would like to remind you that over the past year, Helldivers 2 reviews on Steam have fallen from "extremely positive" to "extremely negative", and now they have returned to "extremely positive".

Sony also introduced a themed DualSense dedicated to Helldivers 2.

  • The gg editorial team was satisfied with the game and gave it a 4.4/5 rating. This is an attraction that you want to return to again and again. Sometimes it's crazy, sometimes it makes you laugh, sometimes it's tense because of the number of enemies on the screen, but it's the range of emotions that we love games for.
