Kraven the Hunter proved to be a real flop in its opening weekend, grossing only $11 million in the US. This figure set an unpleasant record - the worst start for a film in the Sony Spider-Man Universe, behind even Madame Web, which grossed $15.3 million during its release.

Here's What We Know

The film's international box office is also unimpressive - Kraven the Hunter earned only $15 million in 60 countries, which, combined with domestic grosses, brings the total to $26 million worldwide. The film cost approximately $110 million to produce, so these results promise significant financial losses for Sony.

The film is centred on the character of Craven, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He plays the role of a skilled hunter who tries to defeat Spiderman after defeating all other opponents in the animal kingdom. However, despite director J.C. Chandor's efforts to encourage fans to give the film a chance, it did not work.

Critics were also not enthusiastic about the film: Kraven the Hunter received only 15% freshness on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the audience gave it 73% freshness.

Thus, Kraven the Hunter has become another unsuccessful Sony project in the superhero world, which calls into question the continued existence of the Spider-Man Universe.
