A few days ago at The Game Awards 2024 was presented the first full trailer of Mafia: The Old Country, which turned out to be spectacular and atmospheric, but it was not very informative.

To let gamers know exactly what to expect from the novelty, the developers gave an interview to IGN portal, in which they revealed important details of the new part of the cult series.

Here's What We Know

Gamemdirector of Mafia: The Old Country Alex Cox and president of Hangar 13 Nick Baynes reminded that the main character of the game will be a young ambitious guy Enzo Favara. He works as a miner in one of the provincial towns of Sicily and got the opportunity to join the mafia family Torrisi. Enzo is eager to prove himself and become a legend of the criminal world of Italy.

Developers said that gamers will be waiting for a tense, dramatic and exciting story, which will be a prequel to the previous parts and will bring the stories of some characters to the events that were shown in other games of the series. Therefore, The Old Country is perfect for a first introduction to the series.

As for the gameplay of Mafia: The Old Country, it will become more tactical and realistic than in the past parts. Players will not often engage in firefights, as many tasks require a more elegant and delicate approach.

Hangar 13 representatives said that they were centred on Mafia 1 and 2 when creating the new game. This is reflected in the structure of the open world - it will be quite spacious, but there will be few secondary tasks in it, because the player should not distract from the plot of unimportant activities. By the way, it will be possible to travel through the expanses of Sicily not only by car, but also for the first time in the series on horseback.

When We Can Expect It

Mafia: The Old Country will be released in summer 2025 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
