Gwent may return to The Witcher 4: CD Projekt has no plans to abandon the popular card game
After the debut trailer of The Witcher 4 was shown at The Game Awards 2024, fans of the series had a lot of questions, many of which have already been answered by the developers.
One of the unanswered questions was the possibility of returning in the new RPG from CD Projekt RED the card game Gwent, which many gamers spent dozens of hours playing in The Witcher 3 and later in the standalone game.
Finally, and on this question the developers gave an indirect answer.
Here's What We Know
Game director Sebastian Kalemba and executive producer Malgorzata Mitręga (Gosia Mitręga) took part in a podcast on Easy Allies channel, where they said that they know that gamers love Gwent and do not rule out that the card game will appear in The Witcher 4. They didn't give a direct answer, but it's unlikely that the CD Projekt team will deprive gamers of the pleasure to play a few games with random strangers, and maybe with Geralt himself, especially since in The Witcher 3 he proved to be a real master of Gwent and even won more than one champion title.
When We Can Expect It
The Witcher 4 release date and target platforms are still unknown, but the game is unlikely to be released before 2026.
