Bloomberg: Apple will introduce AirTag 2 with longer range in 2025
Bloomberg insider and journalist Mark Gurman has a lot of interesting news today about Apple's plans. We already know that the company is working on a new Magic Mouse model and a huge folding gadget that will combine the capabilities of iPad and Mac.
But besides these projects, Apple is also preparing a new AirTag 2 tracker.
Here's What We Know
Mark Gurman reported that Apple plans to introduce AirTag 2 in the middle of 2025. According to him, the gadget will be equipped with a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, which first began to be used in 2023 in the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. It will triple the range of the tracker compared to the first AirTag model (most likely, users will be able to find objects to which the device is attached at a distance of up to 60 metres).
Overall, the AirTag 2's design won't change, but it will get a new inbuilt speaker that's harder to remove.
