Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has handed over more than 1.3 million UAVs to the Defence Forces.

Here's What We Know

The ministry noted that the supply of drones continues uninterruptedly, and contracts for the coming months and years are being actively signed.

This allows not only to strengthen the Ukrainian army at the front, but also to ensure the stability of supplies in the future. Currently, the development of drone production and technology is one of the key priorities of the Ministry of Defence.

Earlier, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov said that the number of drone crews in the army had increased sevenfold over the year. Meanwhile, Ukraine's defence industry has already launched mass production of long-range drones capable of hitting targets at a distance of over 1,000 kilometres.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine's new long-range drones can cover up to 1,300 kilometres. However, according to experts, the power of a drone strike is currently not comparable to missile strikes.

Nevertheless, Ukraine needs additional funding from international partners to further develop its own UAV production.
