Tesla Cybertruck charging capacity at some Supercharger V4 stations has been increased to 325kW
At select Tesla Supercharger V4 stations, the charging power of the Cybertruck pickup truck can now reach 325 kW, the company announced on social media X. This significantly reduces charging times, which previously could exceed an hour for a 123 kWh battery - the largest of any Tesla model.
Here's What We Know
The Tesla Cybertruck can theoretically charge at up to 400 kW, but such rates are not yet available at Tesla Supercharger V4 charging stations. The fastest speeds are usually reached at the beginning of charging and then gradually decrease.
As Carscoops reported, one Cybertruck owner in Blaine, Washington, charged the Cybertruck's battery from 8% to 40% in just 10 minutes. It took him 35 minutes to get to 80%. Maximum power during charging reached 321 kW, but it dropped to 95 kW when it reached 80%.
At the moment, only 19 Supercharger V4 stations in the US can deliver 325kW, but Tesla promises to increase that number soon. What's more, by 2025, some V4 stations will be able to deliver up to 500 kW. This will potentially reduce charging times even further, however, as with many of Tesla's promises, it's worth waiting for the actual realisation.
