Russians evacuate from Syria on a truck stolen in Ukraine
The Russian military used a truck stolen in Ukraine to evacuate its units in Syria.
Here's What We Know
The Russian military used a truck stolen during the retreat from Kherson in 2022 to evacuate its contingent in Syria. A video of this vehicle was published on the X network by the user Pepel Klaasa.
The footage shows the inscription "Products" on the truck. According to the author, the vehicle was seized by the Russian military during the occupation of the Kherson region and subsequently taken to Syria in an unknown manner.
This is not the only case when Russian troops have appropriated civilian transport for military purposes. During the occupation of the Kherson region, Russians confiscated cars from local residents and large companies. Even old Soviet cars, such as ZAZ and Moskvich, were seized, according to the MOST media outlet.
Similar cases of vehicle theft have been reported in Syria. Independent Syrian media reported that the Russian contingent was appropriating vehicles in patrol areas. Stolen vehicles with Syrian licence plates were later used to evacuate Russian troops.
These actions are confirmed by numerous photos and videos showing systematic looting by the Russian military both in Ukraine and abroad.
