Toyota C-HR sales in Europe approach one million units
The Toyota C-HR crossover has almost reached a new milestone: Toyota predicts that by the end of 2024, sales of the model in Europe will exceed 1 million units. This confirms the C-HR's status as the best-selling and one of the most recognisable Toyota models on the continent.
Here's What We Know
Since its debut in 2016, the Toyota C-HR has dramatically changed the perception of the Japanese brand. According to the manufacturer, more than half of buyers cited the C-HR's design as the primary reason for purchase. This, in turn, has contributed to the C-HR becoming the most effective model in attracting new customers to the Toyota brand.

The second generation Toyota C-HR is now on sale. Self-driving hybrid powertrains are available for the model:
- Hybrid 140: 1.8-litre engine with 140 hp, front-wheel drive;
- Hybrid 200: 2.0-litre 197bhp engine, front-wheel drive;
- Hybrid 200 AWD-i: 2.0-litre engine, all-wheel drive.
In addition, the new C-HR also gets a Plug-in Hybrid 220 version for the first time, which can travel up to 66 kilometres on electricity in the WLTP combined cycle and around 100 kilometres in city mode. The batteries for the PHEV version are manufactured in Europe, at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT), which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
