The Tango Gameworks team, known for its Hi-Fi Rush game, has expressed a desire to keep this intellectual property, but is not yet ready to announce the development of a sequel. In a recent interview with IGN, studio head Colin Mack and the creative team discussed the future of Hi-Fi Rush after the acquisition of the studio by Krafton.

Here's What We Know

After the release of Hi-Fi Rush in 2023, the studio faced difficulties, because although players loved the game, it did not become a financial success and the studio was closed in May.

The acquisition of Krafton has given the team a new impetus, and now they are considering opportunities to continue working on their favourite franchise. "We are positively looking at the possibility of a sequel, but we can't really say what we're going to do yet," said Mack.

Game director John Johannas emphasised that the team has a strong attachment to Hi-Fi Rush, and they want to "nurture this IP".

Not only the game, but the characters and the world are beloved to us, so I want to nurture that intellectual property

However, he also noted the importance of experimentation and new projects for the development of the studio. "If the Hi-Fi Rush franchise stays the same, it will eventually become obsolete," Johannas added.

Tango Gameworks plans to expand its team to 100 people in the near future, which will allow them to focus on creating one game at a time and experiment with new projects.

In addition, the team is committed to maintaining a culture of freedom in the creative process. They hope to continue this tradition in the future to ensure a healthy atmosphere for creativity and innovation.
