Ghosts in a new format: Sony and Netflix are working on an animated film set in the Ghostbusters universe, insiders tell Deadline

Sony Pictures Animation and Netflix are joining forces to create a new animated film in the Ghostbusters universe, Deadline reports.

Here's What We Know

The project is in the early stages of development, but Chris Pern will direct it. Pern has created such cartoons as The Willoughby Family, Hunting Season, and Cloudy, Some Precipitation Possible: Revenge of the GMOs.

However, plot details have not yet been disclosed.

Insiders also suggest that this cartoon could do for the Ghostbusters intellectual property what the Miles Morales animated films did for Spider-Man.

We would like to remind you that they gave a new wave of popularity to the superhero, earned more than a billion dollars, created a revolution in animation and received many awards, including an Oscar.
