Destroyed Krakow, creepy monsters and mysterious artefacts: Bloober Team published atmospheric artwork of the horror game Cronos: The New Dawn
Right after the successful release of Silent Hill 2 Remake, Polish studio Bloober Team announced an ambitious sci-fi horror game Cronos: The New Dawn.
The debut trailer intrigued gamers, but left a huge number of questions and now the developers have published several artworks that answer some of them.
Here's What We Know
The events of the game will unfold in the alternative 1980s in Poland. The player is assigned the role of one of the Travellers (Travelers) from the secret organisation Collective. They go to the past to find valuable artefacts and outstanding personalities to influence the future with their help (but the details of the plot may turn out to be different, as Bloober Team came up with a complex concept of the game and does not hurry to explain it).
The first art shows off a futuristic Putnik suit designed for survival in a post-apocalyptic, dangerous world. The suit is equipped with high-tech devices and sensors to help safely deal with temporal anomalies.
The second art shows the New Dawn neighbourhood, which is important to the developers as it was created in the likeness of the real Nowa Huta neighbourhood in Kraków, where the studio's history began. New Dawn used to be full of people and life, but when The Change happened, it was deserted and turned into ruins.
Cronos: The New Dawn will feature many real-life locations of Krakow, as well as everyday objects, scenery, cars, clothes and other elements from Polish life in the 80s.
The third art gives a glimpse of the Infected, the creepy enemies that players will encounter in a devastated Krakow. Their ancestors were once human, but after some global cataclysm they were reborn into grotesque creatures. The developers will reveal more details about their origins later.
The final art shows one of the mysterious Artefacts - it is them that players will be looking for to unravel the mystery of the events.
When We Can Expect It
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
Go Deeper:
- Bloober Team's Cronos: The New Dawn won't scare gamers with high system requirements
- The combat system in Cronos: The New Dawn will be more reminiscent of Resident Evil remakes than Silent Hill 2.
