Gearbox doesn't go backwards: Borderlands 4 will have cross-play and a two-player splitscreen mode right away

In 2019, Gearbox Studios made a mistake by releasing Borderlands 3 without crossplay support. Later, this option was still implemented, but gamers were dissatisfied that the developers did not immediately provide such a necessary feature for co-operative play.

Well, the American developer won't make such a mistake again.

Here's What We Know

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford gave an interview to Japanese edition of Famitsu, in which he confirmed that Borderlands 4 will feature cross-play, which will allow PlayStation, Xbox and PC users to create joint lobbies and play the game together regardless of the platform.

The shooter will also support standard four-person online co-op and a split-screen mode that will allow two players to play Borderlands 4 on the same device.

When We Can Expect It

Borderlands 4 will release in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
