Total number of Octopath Traveler series units sold reached 5 million

The Octopath Traveler series has become one of Square Enix's biggest successes in recent years, continuing to attract a solid player base. Recently, the franchise reached another impressive sales figure.

Square Enix announced on Twitter that the Octopath Traveler series has sold more than 5 million units worldwide across all platforms. Although the publisher did not share individual sales figures, preliminary data shows that the original Octopath Traveler reached 3 million units sold by 2022, and its sequel, Octopath Traveler 2, exceeded 1 million units sold as of last year.

Given the continued critical acclaim and commercial performance, it is clear that there are many more Octopath Traveler games to come.

Meanwhile, Square Enix is actively investing in its HD-2D projects. The HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest 3 was released in November, and the remakes of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 are scheduled for next year.
