"We are not a retro company": Sega has no plans to release mini copies of its retro consoles in the future

Sega, known for its classic games and consoles, has no intention of developing new mini consoles, despite the success of the Genesis Mini and Genesis Mini 2. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the company's president and COO Shuji Utsumi said that Sega is focused on the future and seeks to create "something new" rather than return to retro trends.

Utsumi emphasised: "I do not plan to move in the direction of Mini. It's not my thing." He also noted that the company appreciates its heritage, but wants to develop further: "We want to create something new - otherwise we will become history.
