2024 was full of interesting indie games, and Shuhei Yoshida, Head of PlayStation Indies, spoke about his 11 favourite independent projects.

If you've been looking for interesting indie games to play now, given that there will be no more major releases, here's Yoshida's list of really cool projects.

  • Pacific Drive: In this survival simulator, players travel through the dangerous landscapes of a post-apocalyptic world, driving a car and exploring the secrets that lie in the forest.
  • Animal Well: This platformer invites players to explore a mysterious world filled with puzzles, where every corner hides new secrets and challenges.
  • V Rising: In this multiplayer action-RPG, players take on the role of a vampire who must regain his power by building a castle and fighting enemies in an open world.
  • SCHiM: A 3D platformer where players jump from shadow to shadow to return to their master, solving puzzles and interacting with the environment.
  • The Lucky Squire: This game combines elements of platforming and adventure, where heroes can move between 2D and 3D worlds to solve puzzles and fight enemies.
  • Palworld: This game combines survival elements with Pokémon mechanics, where players can catch creatures, build bases, and take part in battles.
  • Neva: This emotional adventure game tells the story of the bond between a young girl and a huge creature in a magical world in need of protection.
