In 2025, a new Apple TV set-top box is expected to be released, and rumours suggest that its price in the US may start at $99.

Here's What We Know

Analysing Apple's supply chain, expert Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the next version would be cheaper after the release of the Apple TV 4K model in October 2022. He believes that the optimal price for the Apple TV set-top box will be less than $100, but the exact price is not yet known.

The first Apple TV models of 2010 and 2012 cost $99, and later Apple reduced the price of 2012 to $69. This paved the way for the release of more affordable models.

The new Apple TV set-top box at this price will allow Apple to better compete with streaming devices such as Google TV Streamer, which costs $99.99, as well as with cheaper options from Amazon and Roku, which can start at $24.99 during sales.

Currently, the Apple TV set-top box starts at $129 for a 64GB model, while a 128GB model with an Ethernet port is available for $149. The new Apple TV may feature improved graphics and a more user-friendly interface.

Possible innovations in the next Apple TV model include a faster A-series chip and support for Wi-Fi 6E. There are also rumours of a built-in camera, which will allow users to make FaceTime video calls without the need for third-party devices.

In a report about a new Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip developed by Apple, author Mark Gurman notes that this chip will be included in the new Apple TV and HomePod mini, which are scheduled to appear in 2025.

The release date of the new Apple TV is not yet known, but it is expected to be available in 2025.
