Samsung smartphone users will be able to filter notifications in One UI 7.0
With the new One UI 7.0 update, which is based on Android 15, Samsung introduces another useful feature for filtering notifications.
Here's What We Know
Samsung smartphones will now be able to automatically hide unwanted or old notifications.
The second beta version of One UI 7.0 introduces a new feature called Notification Filtering. With this feature, you can set your phone to move all unwanted or unimportant notifications to the bottom of the notification screen. You can choose the types of notifications you want to filter.
Here are the three main categories for filtering notifications:
- Background activities - notifications that tell you about app activity in the background.
- Minimised notifications are notifications that you manually minimise.
- Old notifications: Notifications that you haven't responded to in a few days.

You can activate each of these options separately to personalise your notification filtering. To do this, go to the settings: Settings, Notifications, Advanced settings and select Notification filtering.
This feature significantly improves the experience of using a smartphone, giving users more control over the flow of information and helping to keep the screen tidy.
As for other innovations, China already has a function to block certain apps on One UI, and users in other countries are actively asking Samsung to add it to the global version of One UI 7.0. It can be useful, for example, to protect sensitive apps when other people or children are using the phone.
Representatives of the One UI beta team confirmed that the idea of app locking is currently under consideration. If it is in line with Samsung's concept, this feature may appear in the official release of One UI 7.0.
