The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has announced that the new Shchedryk unmanned aerial vehicle developed by domestic manufacturers has been approved for operation.

Here's What We Know

This reconnaissance drone is capable of operating in extreme temperature conditions - from extreme heat to frost - and is designed to perform tasks during the day and at night.

The complex includes a control station and remotely piloted aircraft equipped with silent electric motors and increased resistance to electronic interference. The drone can reach speeds of up to 150 km/h, has a range of up to 40 km and can climb to an altitude of up to 4 km.

"Shchedryk is also equipped with modern optical equipment with a thermal imaging channel, which allows it to perform tasks effectively at any time of the day. Deputy Minister of Defence Dmytro Klimenkov stressed that the drone's characteristics allow it to operate from heights that are difficult to reach for most enemy air defence systems.

The Ministry of Defence notes that the drone can be used both during the day and at night, which indicates the presence of a thermal imaging channel in the optical station, which significantly increases its effectiveness.
