Oppo is likely to beat Samsung to the punch with the launch of its new foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N5, which will be introduced to the world as the OnePlus Open 2.

Here's What We Know

It is expected that the new product will enter the market before the Galaxy Fold 7, as well as before the Oppo Find X8 Ultra.

According to the information from the Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, the Find N5/Open 2 will be thinner, lighter, and will have an improved Hasselblad camera.

Other innovations include increased water protection according to the IPX8 standard, a 50 MP periscopic telephoto lens, and a larger battery with wireless charging support, which was not previously available in the series.

The Oppo Find N5 will be released in China before the Chinese New Year, giving it an edge over other foldable smartphones planned for next year.

Indian insider Yogesh Brar confirmed that a global version of the smartphone could also be released soon.

The strengthening of OnePlus and Oppo's position in the foldable device market could pose a serious challenge to Samsung, whose share in Europe is gradually declining. In addition, other competitors are expected to launch next year, including Google Pixel Fold 10 Pro, Honor Magic V4, and Vivo X Fold 5.

OnePlus Open 2 is likely to feature a new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which will provide the device with a high level of performance and advanced features.

The smartphone will be thin and light with a metal frame and support for wireless magnetic charging. The device is expected to be compatible with Apple's ecosystem thanks to the "Share with iPhone" feature, which allows you to share files between Android and iOS.
