Xpeng Land Aircraft Carrier: modular flying car makes its US debut at CES 2025
Xpeng AeroHT announced the debut of its Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC) modular flying vehicle at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The vehicle combines a three-axle ground vehicle and a two-seat flying module. Series production is scheduled for 2026 with a price tag of about 2 million yuan ($280,000).
Here's What We Know
The Land Aircraft Carrier is the latest development of Xpeng's AeroHT division. After its first public flight in November 2024, the vehicle has collected more than 2,000 pre-orders. This month, the LAC was spotted testing and Xpeng's CEO, He Xiaopeng, personally tested it on the road.

The Land Aircraft Carrier, known as the Mothership, is an electric range extender vehicle (EREV). Its dimensions are 5.5×2×2×2 metres and its mixed range reaches 1,000km. The internal combustion engine works as a generator to charge the battery, with no direct connection to the wheels.

The flight module, located inside the car, can be released at the push of a button. It is designed for two passengers, supports 5-6 flights on a single charge and two control modes: manual and automatic. Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the flying vehicle's battery can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes.
The CES 2025 exhibition will take place from 7 to 10 January.
