Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim may get a periscope camera with ALoP technology to keep its slim design
Samsung seems to be planning to release the Galaxy S25 Slim, which will be part of the new Galaxy S25 line.
Here's What We Know
This smartphone may be the company's thinnest flagship, competing with the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. However, the main feature of the S25 Slim may be the use of a new camera technology that will allow the introduction of a periscopic telephoto camera without reducing the thickness of the device.
Samsung has developed the All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) technology, which allows for the creation of periscopic modules that take up less space than traditional cameras. According to analyst firm Meritz Securities, this innovation will allow the periscopic zoom module to be installed in the very thin body of the Galaxy S25 Slim, which was not possible with previous technologies. This will reduce not only the length, but also the height of the module, which will reduce the camera protrusion, which is important for thin smartphones.
Despite its compact size, the new camera promises to maintain high image quality. Samsung claims that the new module with an aperture of f/2.58 and a focal length of 80 mm will provide brighter images with improved shooting performance.
ALoP technology is designed to not only improve the camera's functionality, but also allow Samsung to produce one of the thinnest flagship smartphones on the market. However, time will tell whether this promise will come true.
According to forecasts, Samsung seems to be planning to sell 3 million units of the Galaxy S25 Slim, which is a relatively low result compared to other models in the Galaxy S25 lineup.
