A leak has revealed the design of the new OnePlus Open 2 foldable smartphone
OnePlusFirst has achieved significant success with the release of its first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, in 2023. Now, ahead of the release of its successor, the OnePlus Open 2, the first renders of the new device have surfaced, based on its late prototype.
Here's What We Know
According to the latest rumours, the new smartphone will be bigger and thinner than its predecessor, while retaining the signature round camera module with three lenses and the Hasselblad logo. When folded, the device will be less than 10mm thick, making it one of the thinnest foldable phones on the market.
The OnePlus Open 2 will reportedly feature an 8-inch main display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K LTPO resolution, along with a 6.4-inch external AMOLED screen. Inside, the device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of inbuilt storage, while the rear camera will include three 50-megapixel sensors: a primary, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, there will be two cameras at 32 MP and 20 MP. The battery capacity is rumoured to increase to 5900 mAh and will support 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The OnePlus Open 2 could be launched in China in early 2025, with a global release late in the first quarter of 2025.
