The second part of Batman with Pattinson was postponed for a year: now the premiere is scheduled for 1 October 2027
Warner Bros. has postponed The Batman sequel with Robert Pattinson from 2 October 2026 to 1 October 2027, Deadline reports. Director Matt Reeves noted that production would not start until the end of summer 2025.
Here's What We Know
This sequel will be a continuation of the successful film The Batman, which was released in 2022 and earned more than $772 million at the global box office. The first film was Warner Bros.' first major release after the COVID-19 pandemic and received positive reviews, and also sparked the creation of The Penguin series, which became the third most popular debut on HBO Max.
In place of The Batman sequel, a new untitled film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Tom Cruise will be released on 2 October 2026. This project will also be shown in IMAX format and tells the story of the most powerful man in the world who is trying to prove that he is the saviour of humanity in the face of a catastrophe.
So Batman fans will have to wait even longer before the premiere of the second film. And it turns out that GTA VI will probably be released even earlier than The Batman Part II.
