Ambitious racing game Tokyo Xtreme Racer (2025) will be released on Steam Early Access on 23 January

Japanese studio Genki has revealed the release date of an early version of the racing game Tokyo Xtreme Racer (2025), which will be a continuation of the once popular series that was interrupted almost 20 years ago.

Here's What We Know

Tokyo Xtreme Racer (2025) will be released in Steam Early Access on the 23rd of January and will stay there for about four months. During this time, the developers promise to make comprehensive changes and improvements, taking into account the wishes and comments of gamers.


Tokyo Xtreme Racer producer's statement

The early version will introduce half of the story campaign, and the main focus will be on racing competitions and wide opportunities in car customisation. There will also be some new feature that will take into account players' skills and match them up with worthy opponents.

We have already introduced more than 200 opponents into the game, each of which has its own story. We will also be adding 50 cars and over 180 kilometres of highways to race on.

In Tokyo Xtreme Racer gamers will have to race through the Tokyo of the future, isolated from the rest of the world.

While the release of Tokyo Xtreme Racer is announced only on PC, but most likely in time the game will be released on consoles.
