Sony has demonstrated its new concept of Future Immersive Entertainment, which immerses players in the world of video games using various technologies. This innovative project allows users to literally find themselves in the middle of the game world using a combination of visual, sound, and even olfactory effects.

Here's What We Know

The concept is a large cube with LED panels that surrounds players. The video shows the subway from The Last of Us, where players can feel the atmosphere of the game through "audio, tactile sensations, smells, and atmospheric effects". This creates a unique experience that allows players to interact with the game world using physical tools such as a flashlight or weapon.

Although the technology looks interesting, it is still at the concept stage and is not ready for mass production. Sony emphasised that this project is only one of the possible directions for more interactivity in games. Nevertheless, we can already imagine how players will be able to recognise the smell of a clicker or shoot a couple of infected people with a rifle.

However, VR technology has not managed to become very popular, but we will see what the Future Immersive Entertainment concept will come to.
