The 10 strangest devices at CES 2025

Technology exhibitions are always full of strange concepts that are hard to imagine in everyday use. This is what surprised us at CES 2025.
- Mirumi: A lazy robot that clings to the strap of a handbag and looks around with interest, but shyly turns away if strangers approach or touch it. Impractical, but only $70!
- Swippitt Phone Toaster: A phone charger that looks like a toaster. This thing will simply replace the battery built into a special case, but there is a fear that one day you will get it wrong and insert your smartphone into a real toaster.

I don't think you'll be able to gain much time without moving your hand to the touchpad, but it's an interesting thing as a gimmick and a flight of fancy for engineers.
- LG StanbyME Go: A 27' portable display with a shoulder strap and new accessories. Despite its strange appearance, this is the second generation, which means that the device is evolving and may find application, for example, in advertising.
- SwitchBot K20 Plus Pro: A multifunctional robot built on the basis of a robot vacuum cleaner that can perform various household tasks. The modular structure allows to place a surveillance camera, air purifier, fan, etc. on it. The developer is currently working on creating robotic arms for it.
- Ultrahuman Rare: A smart ring made of 18-carat gold costing $1,900 (gold version) or $2,200 (platinum version). It's the same as the Ultrahuman Ring Air for $349, but it's expensive. Well, there is actually a demand for it.

The device heats up the place for the cat, weighs it, filters out cat hair, and also connects to the LG ThinQ smart home system, where you can even see how many hours the cat has slept. This device is more of a surprise: why did people think of it so late?

The capsule is equipped with cameras and microphones to fully interact with the interlocutor. I am sure there is a country that is several centuries ahead of us where this device will be a commercial success. And this thing can also gently wake you up in the morning.
