Galaxy A36 looks set to launch in the US with Samsung chip
Samsung is preparing to launch new Galaxy A series smartphones, including the Galaxy A36. This device will be available in the US market, and unlike the Galaxy A56, it is likely to be powered by a Samsung chip. The latest data from the Geekbench database confirms the use of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset developed by Samsung.
Here's What We Know
The US variant of the Galaxy A36 with the model number SM-A366U has appeared in the Geekbench database. The smartphone will run on Android 15 (One UI 7) and will be equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with 6 GB of RAM. This confirms that the device in the US will have performance similar to the international SM-A366B variant, also with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor is an octa-core chip manufactured on the Samsung Foundry's 4nm process technology. It includes four 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and four 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The Adreno 710 GPU supports high image and graphics quality, and provides fast access to LPDDR4X or LPDDR5 RAM.
The chip also supports Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, and several navigation systems such as GPS and Galileo, which allows for accurate navigation and stable network connectivity.
The Galaxy A36 scored 967 points in the Geekbench single-core test and 2750 points in the multi-core test, which indicates similar performance to the Exynos 1380 used in the Galaxy A35. Thanks to the 4nm process of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, the smartphone is expected to have improved power efficiency.
The smartphone is likely to feature a large OLED screen with a high refresh rate, a powerful mid-range chip and a large 25W fast charging battery. The Galaxy A36 will ship with Android 15 and will receive six major Android OS updates.
