Google has started rolling out a new feature in Quick Share widely to Android users that makes it easier to share files. QR codes can now be used in Quick Share, eliminating the need to verify devices, add contacts or change settings.

Here's What We Know

In the latest update to Google Play services (version 24.49.33), users can select the "Use QR Code" option from the sharing menu. A QR code appears on the screen, which recipients can scan with their Android devices. The screen of the transmitted device automatically increases in brightness for easy scanning. Once scanned, a secure link opens and the file transfer begins instantly.

A single QR code can be scanned by multiple devices, allowing you to share files with multiple people at the same time. This is especially useful in groups, such as when showing a presentation at work or sharing shared photos.

The introduction of QR codes in Quick Share solves common file sharing problems and makes the file transfer process more efficient, reliable and faster.
