Grok artificial intelligence, which was previously integrated into the X social network, is now available as a standalone application.

Here's What We Know

Developed by xAI, this chatbot allows you to generate images, summarise texts, and answer questions using a conversational style that the creators describe as "humorous and engaging". The app allows users to interact with AI in a simple and convenient way without having to access the X platform.

Grok was first tested in December 2024 among a limited number of users. X has introduced free access to Grok for all users, which was previously only available to those with an X Premium subscription that cost at least $8 per month. Now anyone can use this technology at no additional cost.

The main feature of the app is the restriction on the use of the free version. Users are allowed to make up to 10 queries every two hours and only three image analysis requests per day. The application can be used without authorisation, but it is possible to log in via Apple, Google, X, or email accounts. At the moment, it is not confirmed whether the X Premium subscription provides additional benefits in the app.

Despite some problems with the accuracy of answers and the creation of unusual images, Grok stands out from other AI assistants due to its ability to answer "hot topics" that other chatbots avoid. Grok's model is also open source, allowing developers to explore and exploit its capabilities.
