Ukraine is to receive 30,000 FPV drones as part of an international initiative known as the Drone Coalition. This was announced by UK Defence Secretary John Healey and his Latvian counterpart Andris Spruds during a meeting in the Ramstein format in Germany.

Here's What We Know

The drones will be delivered following the signing of contracts worth £45 million (about $55.3 million). Funding will be provided by the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, and Sweden.

The British government notes that these "state-of-the-art FPV drones" will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to effectively combat Russian aggression by hitting the occupiers' positions and armoured vehicles.

The Drone Coalition, established in February 2024 at the initiative of Latvia and in coordination with the United Kingdom, brings together 17 countries: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Ukraine. It has a joint fund for the purchase of drones, which regularly holds tenders.

In addition, coalition members provide Ukraine with drones and financial support on a bilateral basis.
