German Bundestag approves purchase of Israeli PULS MLRS for EUR 65 million
The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag has approved the purchase of Elbit PULS (Precise and Universal Launching System) multiple launch rocket systems worth EUR 65 million. These funds cover the purchase of five launchers, ammunition, spare parts and a training package.
Here's What We Know
The Elbit PULS will replace the MARS (M270 MLRS) systems that Germany has provided to Ukraine as part of its military assistance. The choice of the PULS system is due to its advantages in operation and technical readiness compared to GMARS from Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin.
The PULS system is already in use by the armed forces of the Netherlands, Denmark and Spain, which ensures interoperability with the Bundeswehr during joint operations.

However, the delivery time is of concern. According to representatives of the CDU/CSU (Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union) parties, the first units will be available no earlier than 2028, and full operational readiness is expected after 2030. The opposition has criticised these delays and called for a faster restoration of rocket artillery.
Elbit PULS has an open architecture that allows integration with various command systems. The system supports various types of munitions, including rockets with a range of up to 370 km and Sky Striker munitions with a range of up to 100 km.
