The list of special versions of the most powerful road-going Mustang has received an addition - the GTD Spirit of America. This special version of the already special GTD, was unveiled at a ceremony in Detroit just before the opening of the Detroit Auto Show 2025.

Here's What We Know

The Ford Mustang GTD is an 815-hp version of the pony car inspired by the Mustang GT3. And the even newer Mustang GTD Spirit of America is strictly an exterior visual change package for the model. The package was created to commemorate the fact that the GTD was the first car from an American automaker to lap the famous German Nürburgring circuit in under 7 minutes.

The package consists of small red and blue central racing stripes attached to the body in Performance White colour. The spoiler side plates and side mirrors are painted red, while the rear spoiler surface says "MUSTANG" in huge white letters. The side mirrors can also be in exposed carbon fibre if the buyer so desires.

Inside, the new special edition Mustang gets black leather seats with white inserts and a red stripe down the middle. Blue contrast stitching is found throughout the cabin. And titanium elements have been added to the paddle shifters and transmission shift ring.

You can see the Mustang GTD Spirit of America live at the Detroit Auto Show 2025, which will be open to the public from 11 to 20 January.
